About Brittany


Brittany Helmich is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  She attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Blackburn College and her Master's Degree in Clinical Adult Psychology from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE). Brittany’s clinical experience ranges from community mental health, both residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment, drug court, psychiatric response team and crisis counseling, and working with service members and their families through the Illinois Army and Air National Guard. Brittany’s therapeutic experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use disorders), bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, life changes and transitions, grief and loss, relationships, and anger management.  


Brittany utilizes a client-centered and eclectic approach, with skills that encompass the tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy with a focus on one’s strengths and resiliency.  Brittany looks forward to providing individualized treatment services while creating a supportive and accepting environment that fosters rapport, motivation towards one’s goals, and overall health (both mental and physical) and well-being.  In her free time, Brittany enjoys reading, trying new places to eat, and spending time with family, friends, and her pets.
